The Tannery
Our journey begins in Agra - a city where the craft of leatherwork has been passed down for generations, long before "export" was ever part of the vocabulary. We source full-grain leather from tanneries rooted in this same tradition, where hides are cured and finished using techniques refined over decades, not manufactured to a deadline.
The result is leather with real depth - grain that shows its own character, and a surface that only grows richer with wear. This is not leather chasing a European pedigree. It is leather that earned its own.
The Last
The foundation of every Amisar shoe is the last—a solid wooden form around which the shoe is constructed. Our master last-makers carve each form by hand, refining the curves and proportions to ensure an
impeccable fit and a timeless silhouette. It is an exacting science and a sculptural art, dictating the ultimate elegance and comfort of the final piece.
The Stitch
We employ the traditional Goodyear welt construction, a method revered for its durability and water resistance. A strip of leather, the welt, is stitched to both the upper and the insole, before the outsole is
attached. This meticulous process, performed by skilled artisans, not
only ensures longevity but allows the shoe to be repeatedly resoled,
guaranteeing a lifetime of wear.
